Ms. Milano founded NCHAR in 2007 and started the Surviving to Thrive Self-Health Facilitation Program which was open to the general public. In December 2009, she shut the doors to NCHAR and privatized the program creating an institute for trauma survivors. It targets those seeking survivor to survivor support blanketed by the advanced guidance and mentorship provided by a Restoration Facilitator and a Restoration Network. In April, 2010, The Living Institute for Guidance Hope and Transformation International became that Private School of Thought.
The fundamental purpose of The L.I.G.H.T Int. online is to offer survivors from around the world:
At this time, The LIGHT International operates online and offline via creative course work, workshops and conferences. The LIGHT International anticipates having a permanent home by the year 2018 based in the Savannah Georgia Area.
Those seeking to become members of The LIGHT International come from various walks of life and have experienced different forms of direct and or indirect trauma and in many cases ongoing exposure to compounding trauma, some of which include and are not limited to:
Not sure if you have been traumatized?
Here at The LIGHT Int., we wish to stress that it is important to remember that the extent or degree of trauma is relative to the following:
These points combined formulate each persons response to a given trauma type. This is why we often say "we all heal differently" or "we all process things differently" well... yes and no... yes, one type of violation may yield any number of different responses from person to person. This is because the human composite of each person will withstand trauma uniquely based on their core conditioning. No, in the sense that we are all human beings and we all respond to pain and healing as such.
It is the core condition of the individual being traumatized that makes our responses to trauma distinctly different. However, the fundamentals of how to restore from one trauma type to the next are fairly standard with various approaches being useful in the applied process of restoration. Answering the big Question:

WHO IS SHE:
Founder and Chief Resident Facilitator, Ms. Rachel E. Milano was born in 1973 in Riverhead NY, on the coast of Long Island. From the time she was born Rachel was the target of emotional, physical, mental and sexual abuse, as were her siblings. Before turning ten years old, she lived in 10 different places not including the times she lived with her family on the streets. Between foster homes, extended family and her biological mother, Ms. Milano successfully fought to maintain her most valued possession, her sanity. Of her other siblings, one did not survive their childhood circumstances of abuse and neglect, three who were placed for adoption and Rachel herself who was finally placed at the age of ten. Twenty three years later, she reunited with several of her siblings and biological mother. Since then, she has discovered her purpose in life and now lives to make her past and the past of her siblings worth having been survived.
Ms. Milano is the founder of The L.I.G.H.T International and serves on this site as Resident Facilitator. She is not a Licensed Therapist, she is a Lifestyle Transitions Expert and Restoration Facilitator of The L.I.G.H.T International offering messages, services, resources, tools and techniques as an additional means of lifestyle enhancement and support. This site and the services offered are not a substitute for conventional treatment but should be used as an accompaniment to any established or establishing treatment plan.
